Automatic captions save time when they give you a timed first draft that you only need to correct. They cost time when each fix means redoing the timing, or when changing how captions look undoes your corrections. A good review keeps those jobs apart.
Review in passes
- First pass: fix names, brands, numbers, and words that were clearly misheard.
- Second pass: fix line breaks and punctuation so each caption is one thought.
- Third pass: check the script and style inside the video frame.
- Last: watch the export once with sound and once without.
Correct the words, keep the timing
Most caption fixes are spelling or word changes, and they should not move the caption on the timeline. Edit the text in place so each caption still appears with its words. That way you never have to line captions up with the speech again after correcting them.
Before
Aaj hum vid tone mein captions banayenge
After
Aaj hum Vidtone mein captions banayenge
One word changed; the caption keeps its start and end time.
Save words you use often
If a name or product comes up in every video, save its spelling once so the next draft gets it right. When a saved spelling and your own correction disagree, your correction should win.
Notice what you fix most
After a few videos, look at which mistakes keep coming back. Usually it is the same names, the same Hinglish spellings, or the same kind of line break. Saving those spellings and fixing them first makes every later review shorter.
